Icons contest 1.4

I believe Jajuk 1.4 has still a lot of icons that aren't enough self-explaining/user friendly. I am proposing to make a list here, discuss how we could improve them and finally vote for your favourites ones.

A. The Rules

This Section describes the general guidelines of this workshop. Use the section B to propose new icons, discuss icons, and vote for icons.

Guidelines to design icons

  • Icons must be self-explaining/suggestive (use of short term memory, not long term).
  • Icons may use well-known signs/symbols from day to day lift and well known software
  • Icons should tell a story from the left to right and from the top to bottom (or in diagonal). E.g.: "Digital DJ" icon could be a digital symbol in the left top corner, then a DJ symbols in the right bottom corner.
  • Best would be to use text, but it very difficult when icons are smalls
  • Check out Jajuk manual and Screenshots sections to see current usage of icons. A non exhaustive list of icons used in Jajuk 1.4 is available on Icons_list_1.4.

Evaluate icons

  • See yourself as a new user. Best is to ask people who don't know Jajuk to guess what could be the purpose of a such icon (in a media player software context)
